Conditions treated: ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder, and more.

Anxiety Disorder Treatment

Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in the United States — and it's also one of the most treatable. If persistent worry, panic attacks, or social anxiety are interfering with your daily life, the team at Advanced Practice Mental Health Associates in Oklahoma City is here to help. We treat the following types of anxiety:

  • Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD)

  • Panic disorder and panic attacks

  • Social anxiety disorder

  • Specific phobias

  • Anxiety related to PTSD or depression

Depression Treatment & Medication Management

Depression is more than sadness — it can drain your energy, affect your sleep, and make even small tasks feel impossible. Our providers offer compassionate, evidence-based treatment for depression that goes beyond just writing a prescription. We offer psychiatric medication management and work closely with our patients to find the right antidepressant or medication combination. We monitor your progress and make adjustments based on your response to treatment.

Signs you may benefit from depression treatment:

  • Persistent low mood or hopelessness lasting more than two weeks

  • Loss of interest in activities you used to enjoy

  • Changes in sleep, appetite, or energy levels

  • Difficulty concentrating or making decisions

  • Thoughts of self-harm or suicide (if you are in crisis, please call 988)

ADHD Diagnosis & Treatment

We work with patients experiencing inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive, and combined-type ADHD. Your provider will conduct a thorough evaluation of your symptoms, history, and daily challenges. From there, we'll work together to find the right medication regimen — and adjust it over time as needed.

Bipolar Disorder Diagnosis & Treatment

Bipolar disorder involves cycles of manic highs and depressive lows that can disrupt every area of your life. Effective medication management is central to stabilizing mood and helping patients with bipolar disorder live full, productive lives. Our Oklahoma City providers have extensive experience treating bipolar I, bipolar II, and cyclothymia.

PTSD & Trauma Treatment

Post-traumatic stress disorder can affect anyone who has experienced or witnessed a traumatic event. We provide evidence-based psychiatric medication management for PTSD, including medications that reduce hyperarousal, nightmares, and depressive symptoms. We accept TRICARE, making us a strong choice for active-duty military members and veterans in the Oklahoma City area.

PTSD symptoms we address:

  • Intrusive memories, flashbacks, or nightmares

  • Avoidance of people, places, or situations tied to trauma

  • Negative changes in mood, thinking, or self-image

  • Hyperarousal — feeling on edge, sleep problems, irritability

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Treatment

Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is one of the most misunderstood mental health conditions — and one of the most treatable. If intrusive thoughts, compulsive rituals, or relentless mental loops are consuming hours of your day and making it hard to function, you are not alone.

OCD is a chronic mental health condition characterized by two core features: obsessions and compulsions. Obsessions are unwanted, intrusive thoughts, images, or urges that cause significant anxiety or distress. Compulsions are repetitive behaviors or mental acts performed in an attempt to neutralize that distress — temporarily. The relief compulsions provide is short-lived, which is what keeps the cycle going.

We offer psychiatric medication management for OCD, which is often a critical component of an effective treatment plan. Certain medications — particularly SSRIs — have strong clinical evidence supporting their use in reducing the frequency and intensity of obsessions and compulsions, making other therapeutic work more accessible. Your provider will conduct a thorough psychiatric evaluation to understand your specific OCD presentation, symptom history, and treatment goals. From there, we'll work collaboratively to find the right medication approach and adjust it over time based on your response.

Signs you may be living with OCD:

  • Recurring intrusive thoughts you can't control or dismiss

  • Repetitive behaviors — checking, counting, cleaning, arranging — performed to reduce anxiety

  • Mental rituals such as repeating phrases, reviewing memories, or seeking reassurance

  • Significant time spent on obsessions or compulsions — often an hour or more per day

  • Avoidance of situations that might trigger obsessions

  • Distress or impairment in work, relationships, or daily functioning

Weight Loss Management

We offer medically supervised weight loss management that addresses the physical and psychological factors that influence weight. Our providers take a holistic, non-judgmental approach to help you build sustainable, healthy habits. We offer weight loss management with GLP-1s, plus more.
